(Feb 28): Get The Body You Want From The Body You Have

By Magy King, Camden Massage Therapy

See if any of this sounds familiar. You have noticed over the last few months, or even years, that you’ve put on some weight. You remember earlier days when that happened, you would watch what you ate for a while and exercise a bit more, and you’d promptly drop those pesky pounds. Now that doesn’t seem to do the trick. So you may have joined a gym, begun working with a personal trainer or tried a variety of classes, such as yoga, spinning, or Pilates. You know that you’re stronger and perhaps more flexible, but the muscle definition isn’t there while the fat still is. Much to your dismay, you have found that no matter how much you exercise or how little you eat, not only don’t you lose the weight, you continue to gain it. And not only have your energy levels dropped during this time, but more than one area of your anatomy appears to be heading south and taking on a life of its own. You ask yourself if it’s just a natural, unpleasant but unavoidable part of getting older. Perhaps you should accept it gracefully. Don’t you believe it!

Having to deal with extra pounds is one thing, but what about the cellulite? Whether or not we want to admit it, all women and most men have cellulite at some point in their life. The extent of the condition varies from one person to another, but to most, cellulite is a beauty crisis, especially in the warmer months. Not only is the lumpy, dimpled skin unattractive, it’s a visible sign of dysfunctional tissue.

There are many causes including heredity, hormone changes, pregnancy, weight gain, inactivity, or even certain medications. Our fatty tissue acts as a site for toxic waste disposal, a place where substances that cannot be metabolized are dumped and stored. This, combined with the other factors, causes the fat cells to increase up to 300 times their original size and become tethered together inside the pockets that enclose them. To make matters worse, thick, fibrous adhesions are often formed anchoring the congested, fatty tissue to the muscular layer below. Our range of motion is decreased, and the lymphatic drainage system, sandwiched between the 2 layers, is greatly restricted causing stagnant fluid to build up. The results are all too familiar, and dieting, exercise, and weight loss won’t necessarily improve the look of the lumps and bulges. It’s easy to feel as though we’re doomed to live with the problem. Short of surgery, the most remarkable way to get the body we want from the body we’ve got is with the clinically proven treatment called Lypossage.

Lypossage is a specific detoxifying and body contouring treatment that delivers guaranteed, measurable results with dramatic inch loss and cellulite reduction. It has been extremely popular and effective all over the country and around the world, but the treatment has only been available in our area for 18 months. While the results vary from 4 to 13 inches, the women who have tried Lypossage have lost an average of 8.75 inches over the course of 6 weeks. Some have lost as much as 3.5 inches from their waist or hips and 1.5 inches from each thigh.

I have worked on dozens of women, and their profiles have been diverse, ranging in age from 23 to 76. Some have been slender, others fuller figured, all with varied lifestyles and activity levels. There were new mothers, grandmothers, athletes, executives, and everything in between. Their one common bond was to look and more importantly, to feel better. For some, Lypossage was a non-invasive alternative to surgery. Several clients reported the ability to sleep better and a decrease in the pain and stiffness associated with fibromyalgia. Every story was different, but each found an increase in energy levels and improved mental clarity.
